- 1 kg chicken
- 1/2 cup thick curd
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1 lemon juice
- For gravy
- 2 bay leaves
- 4-5 cloves,
- 8-9 peppercorn
- 1 inch cinnamon
- 1inch mace
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 black cardamom,
- 4 green cardamom
- 4 big onion cut into slices
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 2 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- as taste Salt
- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 2-3 green chilli
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- 2 tbsp grated coconut
- 8-10 makhana
- 1 tsp kewra water
- As required Coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions to make to make Degi chicken korma
- Wash chicken very well.take a mixing bowl add chicken curd,ginger garlic paste and all the spices mention for marination.add lemon juice mix all together in very gently. Keep it in a refrigerator for two hours.
- Meanwhile take tomatoes ang green chilli in mixer jar and make a paste. Transfer in a bowl.now in the grinding jar take poppy seeds and Coconut add some water and make a smooth paste.keep aside. heat oil and ghee in a wok then add two onion slices and fry until they turn golden brown. transfer in a plate to cool it.then in a grinding jar add fried onion 2 green cardamom and 1 tsp mace,and makhana grind all coarsely.
- In the same oil add whole spices saute until the aroma comes then add remaining two onion slices fry until they turn light golden in colour.now add chicken pieces in it. Add ginger garlic paste stir it nicely. and cook for 4-5 minutes on high flame.
- Now add Poppy seeds and coconut paste and all the powder spices,.tomato chilli paste and salt.mix well.cook for 5-6 minutes on medium flame.add some water and cover it.cook on medium flame for ten minutes.aftwe that the oil released and chicken will be tender.stir occasionally.
- Remove the lid.add onion paste stir well and cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes on high flame. Now add 2 cups of water or as your desired consistency of korma.add garam masala powder and kewra water.cover in and bring it a boil.turn off the in flame.garnish with coriander leaves.seeve with naan,rรตomali roti or kulcha
