  9. 1 tbs Jeera
  10. 1 tbs Ajwain

  13. 2 cups Water
  14. as per taste Salt
  15. 1cup Buttermilk (if preferred)

  1. To prepare the premix- Sun dry all the sprouted grains for 3-4 days in sun and slow roast them. Grind them into fine powder (Stone grind for authentic taste) and store. You can store this for 4-5 months in an airtight container.
  2. To prepare the Sari- 1. First slow roast all the ingredients for topping and then grind them to fine powder. Keep a side. 2. Boil 2 cups of water in a deep bottom vessel, meanwhile make a smooth paste of Sari Premix (2 tbs) with water. 3. Add this to the boiling water and cook for 5 mins. 4. Add the topping premix to this and switch off the stove. 5. Cool it down and add buttermilk if preferred and then add salt to taste.
  3. Suitable for- This Kanji is suitable for all age groups right from 8th month. However reduce the spice content for younger children.
